The Magistrate imposed a fined of $1,000, with conviction, and ordered the accused to repay the fraudulently obtained benefits in the sum of $12,798.96.  In addition professional costs were ordered in the sum of $1,145.

Remarks:

The accused appeared at court via Webex whilst being held in custody, on remand for separate matters unrelated to the TAC claim.  The Magistrate had pre-read TAC’s sentencing submissions previously lodged and immediately announced the sentence for the offending.
