The accused was sentenced to a 12 month Good Behaviour Bond undertaking, without conviction, which included the conditions that the accused donate $1,000 to Amber Community and ordered to pay costs of $1,161 to the TAC.

Remarks:

After hearing the summary of offending and then submissions from both the defence and the prosecution the Magistrate noted that the accused pleaded guilty at a very early stage, had no prior history, had repaid all the money and was otherwise of good character. Further to this the Magistrate noted that persons who plead guilty are entitled to an even greater discount in the current post pandemic world where the court back logs are so long, as per Worboye’s case.
