MEDIA RELEASE: 1 September 2009

Motorbike riders willing to share their safety knowledge have the chance to win a VIP experience at the 2009 Australian Motorcycle Grand Prix.

The Transport Accident Commission (TAC) is offering the prize in return for the best rider safety tips from the motorcycle community.

The ten best tips will be filmed and shown on www.spokes.com.au and during the Moto GP at Phillip Island on October 16-18.

The rider with the best safety tip will win a Moto GP VIP experience for two, including a three day Grandstand pass, helicopter ride over the circuit, lap of the circuit in a course car and a Honda Australia Rider Training course.

Nine finalists will win a general admission double pass and a pair of protective riding gloves.

TAC Community Relations Executive Manager Phil Reed said experienced riders were in the best position to provide safety tips.

“Experienced riders will have seen a lot on the roads and have an understanding of how to keep themselves safe,” Mr Reed said.

“We’re looking for riders who would like to share their knowledge with others and help keep the motorcycling community safe.”

“The VIP trip to the Moto GP is the experience of a lifetime and we’re happy to offer this incentive to get riders thinking about safety,” Mr Reed said.

Riders can submit their safety tips to www.spokes.com.au.
