Media Release: 26 March 2010
More than 1.5 million people across the world have viewed the TAC’s retrospective of the campaigns that have helped change the way we drive.
On December 10, 1989 the first TAC commercial went to air. That year the road toll was 776; by last year it had fallen to 290.
The powerful three minute retrospective of the past 20 years will air across Victorian television screens in the week leading up to Easter.
If you have lost a loved one on the roads or personally experienced road trauma, you may find the images hard to watch.
The TAC knows that the real life impacts of road trauma are far worse than anything you will ever see in an advertisement.
We see first hand the impacts of road trauma on the community. We support the work of Road Trauma Support Services Victoria, whose counsellors can be contacted on 1300 367 797 and are free of charge.
For more information about this campaign, contact the TAC on 5225 6450.
A schedule of when the montage will appear on TV is available here
