Small grants program supporting severely injured Victorians

Published date: 17 Dec 2024

A hospitality program, short film production and music-making workshop will receive funding from the latest round of the Transport Accident Commission (TAC) Small Grants Program, which supports severely injured Victorians and people with a disability.

Minister for TAC and Work Safe, Danny Pearson, today met participants of All Things Equal’s hospitality pre-employment pilot program, one of three organisations to receive funding from the latest round of the grants program.

The grants program offers funding of up to $50,000 to innovative community-based projects that make a positive change in the lives of TAC clients and Victorians with a disability.

The program invites organisations and individuals to apply for funding for projects that improve health and wellbeing, social and community connectedness and participation, independent living, safety and resilience.

All Things Equal’s four-stage customised program supports people with a disability in successfully transitioning from vocational service providers into full employment in a hospitality workplace, working to close the existing service gap.

The other two successful projects include:

CARDBOARD- a short film: The production of a short film delivered by Back to Back Theatre Inc, using the skills of people with a disability through a series of creative workshops. A public viewing of the film will be held at the Australian Centre for the Moving Image and throughout Geelong Design Week.

The Music Makers: Accessible and innovative music-making workshops to enable creative expression for individuals with a disability, regardless of physical limitations. Delivered by The Sonicrats, these workshops provide a sustainable framework that can be replicated by other service providers into the future.
