TAC statement regarding Geelong Football Club

The following statement relates to a meeting held today, 16 January, between the TAC and the Geelong Football Club following an incident involving Cats player, Billie Smedts, last month:

  • The TAC can confirm that it has met with the CEO of Geelong Football Club, Brian Cook and other key representatives this afternoon.
  • It was a productive discussion and the Geelong Football Club acknowledges that the Billie Smedts incident was highly regrettable.
  • We are now looking to the future and hope to rebuild our relationship in 2014.
  • The TAC expects to receive an advertising partnership proposal in the coming weeks and will consider it on its merits.
