As a general practitioner, you play a central role in managing the health and wellbeing of a person who has been injured in a transport accident. GPs are also vital in influencing health and return to work outcomes.
In most cases, a TAC client will rely on you to advise them and coordinate their medical treatment and services to assist with their overall recovery, rehabilitation and return to work. This includes:
- monitoring and reviewing progress and outcome measures
- prescribing safe and clinically appropriate pharmacy items in line with our Medication guidelines
- helping a TAC client return to work as an important part of their recovery
- completing a Certificate of Capacity and communicating a client's capacity with their employer
