Participation in the competition exposes students to industry experts, sets students apart in the job market, and prepares them with industry best-practice knowledge that can shape the future of road design.
Students are tasked to propose solutions to a real-world road safety project proposal, which runs in parallel with the competition, providing a unique industry-based experience.
The competition provides student the opportunity to:
- gain best-practice industry knowledge required for entering the workforce;
- apply Safe System theory to a real-world scenario;
- apply professional skills to deliver a proposal;
- professional development experience to add to CV and interviews; and
- be awarded with prize money.
A panel of industry experts will evaluate all student submissions.
Four shortlisted teams will have the opportunity to demonstrate their work to the jury of industry experts in Stage Two. The winning entrant will have the opportunity to engage with the project lead on real-world project, and network with industry experts.
All finalists are rewarded for their efforts.
